FLORIDA KEYS TO INDEPENDENCE PROGRAM
Florida Keys to Independence Program
During the 2014 Session, Florida Legislators approved a 3-year Pilot program under Statute 409.1454 Motor Vehicle Insurance
for Children in Care to provide youth in licensed out-of-home care with the opportunity to obtain their driver’s license.
Funded by the Florida Department of Children and Families and administered by Embrace Families, the Keys to Independence Program has been in effect since 2015. Currently, it provides eligible youth the opportunity for: Learners License, Driver’s License, Testing fees, 4-hour Traffic Law and Substance Abuse Course, Driver’s Education Course, Insurance.
Insurance Portion of Florida Keys to Independence Program
At TCG Insurance Programs we are proud to have partnered with Embrace Families and structured the insurance portion of the Keys to Independence Program. Today, TCG continues to provide services for this program that brings so much value for the Florida Children in Care.
